First win of the season

Opening day was not nice to the Phils as Atlanta took away the game 9-3. The Braves did it again, winning the second game 12-4. This wasn't exactly the start that anyone wanted. J.T. Realmuto had said on 94 WIP that he was tired of losing the division to the Atlanta Braves. This wasn't the greatest start though...

But they managed to step it up in game three of the series yesterday. At first it seemed like it would be more of the same Atlanta dominance. Ranger Suarez walked his first batter, then let Ozzie Albies slug a two run homer.

But then Kyle Schwarber got to the mound and needed two pitches before hitting a home run of his own. The score was 3-2 in the seventh inning, Braves' favor. But then Trea Turner hit an RBI single before Alec Bohm got a two RBI single. That pushed the lead to 5-3, and the Phillies held on for a 5-4 win. Ranger Suarez finished the day with seven K's allowing only three runs in five innings.

This win was a solid win over a bitter rival. Winning the division over Atlanta would be so satisfying. Although it is unlikely, if they could get the best NL record and skip the Wild Card, they would already have a head start in the postseason. This win also keeps morale up, as they didn't get swept by Atlanta.
