Listen Nick, I like you, but...
There will be a couple of unemployed people outside the NovaCare center in a couple days by the names of Brian Johnson and Sean Desai. At least I hope. The Eagles will lose to Tampa Bay and the entire Eagles staff will be gone. Even Nick Sirianni has been a target for criticism, as the Ealges have utterly collapsed over the last couple of weeks.

In a desperation game, Jalen Hurts was sent in. The Ealges needed a W vs New York but also a Cowboys loss to Washington to win the division. Although their division title chances were slim as the Cowboys were scorching, but they were clinging to hope. After all, the Giants were 5-11. It wasn't impossible...
Turns out, it was impossible. Completely impossible. Jalen Hurts started the game, but after it became clear that they weren't winning, (they were down 24-0 and he just threw a pick) Marcus Mariota took over. He threw a touchdown to Quez Watkins and an interception. Unable to get anything going offensively, Philadelphia lost 27-10. It was a disgusting game. They gave up 415 yards to New York, while only producing 299. They gave up five sacks, lost two fumbles, threw two picks and lost a game they should have easily won.
This year featured brutal defensive play. A horrendous amount of turnovers didn't help either. This team last year earned 70 sacks. This year: 43. They also allowed 25.2 points per game, compared to last year's 20.2. They also lost five of their last six games. It just wasn't a good year. The highest point differential in games where they won, was 14 points. That isn't bad, but not close to their ridiculous dominance last year.
Sean Desai and Brian Johnson need to go. It's pretty clear. They butchered phenomenal teams. Bringing in Matt Patricia midway through the season was just a desperate attempt to rescue a team that was lost. It failed, and the team tanked. The real question is whether to fire Nick Sirianni. And to that, I say no. I don't think firing Doug Pederson was a good idea to begin with, and I don't think it is solely a head coach's fault every bad season. There are many different factors. Sirianni coached this team to a Super Bowl, and I am strongly opposed to giving up on him. However, if this disaster season were to repeat next year...
