A very special night

Heading into the third game of an four game series vs the Nationals, Michael Lorenzen was the starting pitcher. To a certain point, no one was expecting much.

Lorenzen didn't care. He tossed five K's as he kept on coming back for another inning, and then another, and then another. Before anyone knew it, it was the top of the ninth inning. And with two outs already, Lorenzen needed just one more to complete a no- hitter. And he got it. A pop fly was easily  caught for the final out as his teammates mobbed him in celebration.

And that wasn't it. Outfielder Weston Wilso had come up from the minor leagues, and in his very first MLB at bat, crushed his first MLB homerun. Wilson also stole a base in the fourth inning.

It was a special game, because players shined, when they weren't expected to. And the Phillies have more to celebrate, because their 7-0 win means that they're 63-52, ahead of the 60-56 Marlins in the NL East.
