And that's that

The 76ers played another great game of basketball against the Celtics in game five. Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid had 30 and 33 points respectively, and the Sixers finished with a 115-103 score. Harden had a near triple double with eight rebounds, 10 assists, and 17 points. Jayson Tatum's 36 points ultimately couldn't give Boston the win. The Celtics' nine missed free throws certainly didn't help.

But it couldn't last. The Sixers' 3-2 series lead crumbled. The Celtics kept Philly under 90 points and forced a game seven. Jaylen Brown's seven rebounds, seven assists and 22 points helped Boston to a 95-86 victory. Both Embiid and Maxey scored 26 but the team scored only eight three pointers. The disappointing game was supposed to be the Celtics' last of the series because of how well Philly had been playing, but the loss completely turned the momentum in Boston's favor.

Game seven was a drubbing. The Sixers collapsed, and lost 112-88. The lone highlight was P.J. Tucker's 11 points. Embiid only had 15 points. Jayson Tatum was on fire, scoring a ridiculous 51 points and raining down three after three. He buried six threes and grabbed 13 boards. He was unstoppable, and ended the Sixers' season with anger.

And to add on to the whole situation, Doc Rivers was promptly fired. After three straight eastern conference semifinal losses, the Sixers finally got too fed up with Rivers' inability to send the Sixers farther into the playoffs. The 76ers can not afford to keep on wasting Joel Embiid's best years. Rivers is good, but not able to deliver what the Sixers need -a championship. They are on a 40 year drought, and they have the players who can give it to them. Mike Budenholzer from the Bucks is one rumored candidate. He led the Bucks to a championship, and won. That is exactly who the Sixers need. Someone who will finally bring a championship home to Philly

For now, however, we fans will just have to wait until next year.
