The Phillies started off 9.25 to 3

9.25- 3. That seems like a really weird score, and it is. But that is the average score of the first four Phillies games. They had been dominated virtually every single game, including a 16-3 thrashing by the Rangers and an 8-1 pounding by the Yankees. They were not able to answer at all, and weren't able to scrounge up a win. That all changed against their second to last game against the Yanks.

The Yankees were the ones who were dominated. Jose Alvarado pitched only one inning, but struck out the side. Only Craig Kimbrel, the veteran pitcher new to Philly, allowed a home run. Kyle Schwarber slugged his first home run of the season, which also happened to be his 200th homer of his career. This is the exact reason the Phillies got Schwarber: to hit Schwar-bombs. Schwarber also had 2 RBI from two hits. Brandon Marsh also had a nice game hitting a home run and batting .333. Trea Turner continued a great season, with a solid game against New York. He stole a base, batted in two runs, and also had two hits. He's had at least one hit in every game he's played with the Phillies so far.

After being dominated in almost every single game they played, the Phillies really finally were able to get a W against a tough group in the Yankees. The win was huge, and gave a lot of hope to the season, and a team striving to return, and win, the World Series.
