Reactions to a brilliant offseason: Part 1, Draft
Howie Roseman did it again. The Eagles cheated the draft, stealing top talent and hoarding high level players like they did last year. And for some reason, Roseman obsesses over Georgia Bulldogs. Obsesses.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Georgia Bulldog alumni-in fact, quite the opposite. There are reasons why the Georgia football team has won two back to back championships, the second of which was a 65-7 thrashing of TCU. Georgia produces talent, and defense is key. In the 2023 championship, Georgia's fierce defense picked off two passes and had two sacks. They also allowed only 188 yards and single touchdown. A huge part of that was of course the three Georgia defensive players the Eagles drafted: Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, and Kelee Ringo.
Jalen Carter should have been picked sooner, even for the teams that needed a quarterback. Because what it really boils down to, is that although you might not have much of a use for a 300 pound defensive tackle who had two forced fumbles and three sacks along with three passes defended, you definitely don't want that kind of player on the other team! Nolan Smith is another linebacker you can trust, and for the second year the Eagles drafted a defensive tackle and a linebacker from Georgia.

Jalen Carter is a great addition to an already stacked defensive line |
They are taking all Georgia has to offer them.
Kelee Ringo is another master cornerback who will help build up an already strong secondary. Probably most famous for his pick six against Alabama's Bryce Young in the 2022 Championship, Ringo is a great player, who can only get better. He had two interceptions and 42 total tackles last year, and his beforehand chemistry with Nolan Smith and Jalen Carter strengthens his case. Sydney Brown was another outstanding steal, who is a guru of tipped pass interceptions. Brown tacked on seven passes defended, six interceptions, and a sack in his fifth year at Illinois. He will have a lot to prove about himself, especially compared to his brilliant teammates. Moro Ojomo was a good pickup in the seventh round. He had three sacks at Texas but will back up a stacked defensive line with plety of veterans.
Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Steen was also a good pickup, and has quick feet and nice vision and doesn't buy for a lot of fakes. Tanner Mckee of Stanford shows a little bit of promise, but will back up an already loaded quarterback position. Mckee will battle with Ian Book for the third string QB spot.
Howie Rosesman robbed pretty much the entire league of talent. The league already have considered outlawing a form of the quarterback sneak, as it was basically a cheat code for Jalen Hurts and his offensive line. Pretty soon they'll just start banning Philly from the draft entirely.
