Mahomes takes the MVP
Patrick Mahomes beat Jalen Hurts for the MVP trophy. There wasn't really much of a question between the 2022 season MVP candidates. The two Super Bowl quarterbacks had put together ridiculous seasons. Jalen Hurts running for 13 touchdowns, passing for 22, and throwing only six picks. Mahomes had an equally crazy season tossing 41 touchdowns, throwing for 5,250, and flexing a 105.2 rating. Their challengers weren't really much of a challenge. Josh Allen saw his playoff run end at the hand of the Bengals, 27-10, and Joe Burrow had a worse passer rating, and threw six less touchdowns than Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes also led his team to a better record, and the Super Bowl. The last candidate, Justin Jefferson, was pretty much the default offensive player of the year, when he lost the MVP race. The NFL's quarterback-first bias was shown in the MVP finalist: Mahomes.

The greatest quarterback of today's NFL, Mahomes won the MVP |
That being said, its Mahomes and Hurts in the Super Bowl. The underdog and over dog changes on almost a daily basis, as there isn't an extremely clear, favored team. The Chiefs definitely have more recent experience in the big game, and Patrick Mahomes is the MVP, but the Eagles are hungry and, they have Philly fans. (Check out what Kelly Clarkson said about Eagles fans). Jalen Hurts is also a master player, and his squad of receivers is ready to chew up Kansas City's defense. Chris Jones is arguably the greatest defensive tackle, however, this season, and the Eagles have allowed 44 sacks, total, this year.
Philly is starving for another championship. Nick Sirianni has overnight turned this team from an "ehh" team, to a "Aughhh!"team. Good luck surviving the Eagles defensive line, and Hurts shifty agility. Good luck ignoring A.J. Brown's physical catches, and Miles Sanders 11 touchdowns and 4.9 yards per carry. Good luck with C.J. Gardner Johnson's six interceptions. This Super Bowl will be a fierce battle, with both teams ready for a win, and both cities excited for a win. Philadelphia schools already instituted a two hour delay Super Bowl Monday. Kansas City, we're ready. Are you?
