The Eagles take a dive, and Justin Jefferson did what!?
It really hurt to see the Eagles play the way they did. If they were to go 9-0, the Commanders would be the team to win against, but sloppy, disgusting football tore their chances away. The Eagles had an opportunity, at home, but an interception and three lost fumbles finished them off. The Eagles had been soaring, but have finally landed.
It wasn't an absolutely terrible game, as both Dallas Goedert and DeVonta Smith had a touchdown, but A.J. Brown had one of his worst games in his entire career. He ended the game with ONE reception and had SEVEN yards on that catch. Even Goedert and Smith, with their touchdowns, only had 23 and 39 yards respectively. Hurts threw his first interception since playing the Jags, and threw for only 175 yards. Quez Watkins fumbled a long, beautiful, diving catch. Goedert also fumbled, but that fumble was questionable, and I'll return to it later. Darius Slay had an ugly game against Washisngton receiver Terry McLaurin, and on the day, Slay allowed six receptions.

The Commanders didn't have a flawless game either. Taylor Heinicke threw a pick, the sixth for C.J. Gardner Johnson, and was sacked three times. The Eagles' defensive line held Washington rookie, Brian Robinson, to only 3.3 yards per carry. Antonio Gibson only had 44 yards, and Philly's offensive line allowed only one sack. Even though McLaurin had 128 receiving yards, he failed to have a touchdown. Heinicke did not throw any touchdowns.
It wasn't an unblemished game for either team, but it was a very provocative game. Goedert fumbled, and the fumble was recovered for a touchdown. Eagles fans have a very good reason to rage. Goedert was not only injured on the play, but there was an obvious face mask penalty, and the refs allowed it.
Heinicke, finished by taking a knee and Brandon Graham was penalized for a personal foul. That basically sealed the game.
Honestly, the Eagles should have won the game, but fumbles and flags held them back. The Eagles are still heavy favorites to win at Indianapolis, after all, they have Zack Pascal, and Quez Watkins, capable of taking over Goedert's job, and thier defensive line terrorize quarterbacks. Javon Hargrave has seven sacks this year, and Haason Reddick has 6.5.
On the other side of the NFC, the Vikings won their seventh straight, and beat the Bills in one of the wildest games in NFL history, and the game of the year. It was a battle of wide receivers as Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson traveled to Buffalo to take on Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. It took overtime for the Vikings to win, but nobody cares. Jefferson arguably made the best catch in the history of the NFL. He robbed the football, one handed, from Bills' cornerback Cameron Lewis. And by the way, that throw was on 4th and 18! The game was incredible. The play was even better. If you haven't already seen it, here's a clip from the NFL YouTube channel.
The Vikings are the Eagles' challenge in the NFC, and Jefferson already has 69 receptions for 1,060 yards this season. The Eagles really need to fix their defensive, and offensive, woes if they want to contend with the top teams in the NFC.
