Dang

Through every single week of the 2022 National Football season, we are continually reminded of how absolutely brilliant the Eagles are...and how absolutely idiotic the Titans are. Look, we knew A.J. Brown was good before he came to Philly, but we didn't know he would be this good. Like six receptions for 156 yards and three touchdowns good. Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown both had career days. The Kenny Pickett company arrived at the Lincoln Financial Field with hopes of at least not being completely demolished. The Eagles beat, crushed, the hapless Steelers.

...He didn't care. Brown snagged 3 touchdowns.

Picket threw for zero touchdowns  an interception, and under 200 yards. In fact, the only touchdown of the game, was thrown by Chase Claypool, to little used fullback, Derek Watt, on a trick play. Who? Derek Watt has caught rushed for one and caught one, and has two total touchdowns in his entire seven year career. When T.J. Watt talks about his 22.5 sacks last year, and J.J. Watt can brag of his three defensive player of the year awards, Derek is kind of out of the loop compared to his brothers. Doesn't matter. Watt had only two catches for six yards, and besides his touchdown, had a terrible game, but pretty good by his standards.

The Eagles tough defensive line allowed only 32 yards for Najee Harris. They also sacked Kenny Pickett six times, only allowed them one third down conversion, and also forced a fumble. Pretty good showing. But that's when you add in the fact that C.J. Gardner-Johnson had both a sack and an interception. Wow.

The offense was the Eagles' biggest wow. Jalen Hurts played phenomenally. He threw for four touchdowns, zero interceptions, 285 yards, completed 67.9 percent of his passes, and had a jaw-dropping 140.6 passer rating. That's the kind of rating you glance at, and then do a double take thinking you read it wrong, or it was a typo. The game went downhill for Pittsburgh quickly. A.J. Brown ran the same route to the corner of the endzone two times in a row, and virtually made the same catch each time. It was the same play, and the Steelers' defense bought it almost every single time. Star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and cornerback Ahkello Whitherspoon were covering him, and yet Brown consistently made catches over the double coverage.

Stop and think. A.J. Brown had six receptions, 156 yards, and 3 touchdowns. The Eagles have been waiting a heck of a long time for a receiver who can do that.

The Eagles secondary has made a statement. As a team, they have 10 interceptions with C.J. Gardner-Johnson paving the way with four. In fact, Gardner-Johnson, along with other defensive backs such as Vonn Bell and Jordan Poyer, lead the league in interceptions. The defensive line is intimidating. The Eagles, as wells as the Patriots and Ravens have 23 sacks. They pressure the quarterback, and have generated 16 turnovers, while Philly's offense have given up only two. The Eagles' defense and offense are one of the best in the league.

Funnily enough, it is these same battered young weak Steelers that squeaked by the Tom Brady-led Buccaneers. Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky each threw a touchdown, Pittsburgh's Dand sacked Brady twice. This begs the question: Are the Bucs a good team, just the Steelers are even better? Or are the Bucs a terrible team and the Steelers just a little better? And if the Steelers are a good team and they beat the Bucs, what does that make the Eagles? This may be Brady's last season as a quarterback. Tamba Bay is 3-5 and on a three game losing streak. Tom Brady has passed for only nine touchdowns so far this year. Not very good for the "G.O.A.T."

Doesn't matter. The Eagles are the best team in the league right now. No question about it.
