Phillies destroy D-backs

The Phillies lost two consecutive games to the Diamondbacks, before taking charge yesterday with an 18-2 stomping of Arizona. Errors plagued the D-backs in the game, and a couple of wild pitches were thrown. The game was never in Arizona's favor. Bailey Falter threw six strikeouts in 5 innings while only allowing one run. An overall solid game by the Phillies, and a terrible game by Arizona, allowed Philadelphia to take the game away.

To that end, it is worth mentioning again that the Diamond-backs had a horrendous game, because they really had a horrendous game. The mistakes kept on mounting, wild pitches, bad throws, fielders errors, all of which helped Philadelphia's monstrous defeat of Arizona. However, it is also worth mentioning that the Phillies lost their first games giving up 13 points, and they also lost their second game 12-3. Not a great start, but they finished with confidence. The game actually was a joke by the 8th inning as the Phillies were scoring left and right.

The return of Bryce Harper has helped Philadelphia

Bryce Harper had 2 hits an RBI and batted .323. Brandon Marsh added 3 RBI and 3 hits. The Phillies simply did excellent. The Diamond-backs...well did not. Arizona pitcher Tommy Henry, struggled. He  tossed 4 strikeouts but also 4 walks. And he allowed 7 runs, in just 4 innings. Not the greatest night.

The Phillies are nearing the end of the season, and by every game look more and more prepared for success in the playoffs. Of course, there is a lot of baseball left to play, but if the Phillies continue pasting good games, they will really be heavy favorites heading into the playoffs. Philadelphia is hungry for a third World Series title as they have been without for almost 15 years. And for the first time in a long time, this is the team that looks like it will give it to them.
