The Phillies are on fire

      Many people have complained about the lack of effort given by right-fielder Nick Castellanos ever since Bryce Harper went down due to a thumb injury. And maybe some of their complaints are true. After all, much is expected of the veteran, and he had a significant home run drought that lasted over a month…until yesterday. His smash in the 8th inning against the Braves not only caused the Phillies to take the game, but also broke his streak without a homer. This is the Nick Castellanos that the Phillies need.

       It's also worth mentioning that Rhys Hoskins had a good night against the Nationals on Thursday. With 2 RBI, a homer, and a batting average of .251, Hoskins put on a show. But there are reasons why players such as Alec Bohm, and Noah Syndergaard are getting a lot more attention. In a game cut close by rain, he only allowed 11 hits, and 4 runs...in his first MLB game. And while Syndergaard had a good game, Alec Bohm had a huge game. Bohm's attention has been coming from his .297 batting average and 3 RBI coming off of a Bomb of a homer in the 3rd inning. He also had a nice snag and throw to get

third basemen Maikel Franco out. He was excellent on Thursday. 

    The Phillies look like they are headed for the playoffs as they are 9 games over .500.
