Takeaways from the Eagles blowout
The Dolphins dominated, and the Eagles did not. But before we start, I must say that it wasn't actually as bad as it seems. In fact, the lopsided score makes perfect sense. After all, Jalen Hurts didn't play and Tua Tagovailoa played the first quarter. Speedster Tyreek Hill also had a two catches for 64 yards. The Eagles were dominated, yes, but A.J. Brown, Devont'a Smith, Miles Sanders, and other players who are making this team look like an all star roster, were not playing.
The main problem was Reid Sinnett. Overall, his performance wasn't anything special as he completed 12 of 22 passes, for 104 yards, which isn't awful. What was awful was the troubling pick he threw to defensive back Elijah Campbell. It wasn't a lack of communication, as his receiver wasn't even close to being open. Campbell ran the interception back for a pick six, and as if his interception wasn't enough, Sinnett's attempt at a tackle was also embarrassing. His throw was virtually to the defender, and he was pushed around when he tried to redeem himself through a tackle.

Reid Sinnett was a disappointment |
Jason Huntley is a physical runner, and had a 67 yard burst to give the Eagles their lone touchdown of the game. He carried the ball 11 times for 93 yards, averaging 8.5 yards per carry. However, Jordan Davis is also catching attention this preseason. The huge defensive tackle is 6-6 and 340 pounds. His hugeness attracts attention not only from fans, but also from offensive linemen. Davis is often double or even triple teamed. His mass simply scares opposing quarterbacks.
In other news, Carson Strong has been released. With a promising college career, much was expected, and not much was delivered. However the situation gets very interesting considering he played very little. Jonathan Jones, an NFL insider for CBS Sports, announced it first through Twitter. The situation is truly confusing. Carson Strong was a good player, but not really a need for Philadelphia's goal. Personally Reid Sinnett should have been cut instead due to his mediocre preseason performance. His only highlight was his touchdown to track star Devon Allen.
Overall, the Eagles are in a good position heading into their first game against the Lions. Their horrible game against Miami proves that backups still have much to work on, but the starters are definitely confident and ready for Week 1.
