The Sixers are thriving and Jimmy Butler hates it

P.J. Tucker is coming to Philadelphia. After playing a grand total of one year with the Heat, Tucker is heading to Philadelphia. In a pleasant farewell address on Instagram, Tucker wrote: "Miami, you will forever be my home and Heat nation I can't thank you guys enough for the love you've shown all year. Though our journey together has come to an end the love will forever remain the same." However, it seemed like former teammate Jimmy Butler didn't seem to take the news so well. Butler's response? An f-bomb at both his former teammate, Tucker, and Tucker's new teammate, Joel Embiid.

Tucker averaged 7.6 points per game last year and made 41.5% of his shots behind the arc.

Butler certainly has a reason to be sour. The ex-76er had a decent time with the team in the 2018 season when he averaged 18.2 points 4 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. These stats didn't seem to be enough for the Sixers as they basically ditched Butler by extending forward Tobias Harris's contract causing Butler to move on to Miami. However, when Butler knocked the Sixers off from the Eastern Conference semifinals, everyone seemed to think this was something like bad karma. Maybe bad karma has come back to Butler, as he is robbed of an excellent asset to the Heat team.

Interestingly enough, Butler claimed, after he beat the Embiid-led 76ers in the playoffs, that he had so much respect and love for Embiid. He added that he was proud of Embiid and wished he was on his team.

The question that does need to be asked after this is: is the situation really that serious? After all, P.J. Tucker did post a string of laughing emojis afterwards. So maybe the situation isn't really that dire. But at the same time, if I were Butler, and a stellar veteran athlete was robbed from my team, I think I would be a little mad. Is this a big huge epic controversial issue? Maybe. Is the Butler-Embiid brotherhood officially over? It's hard to say. Is this the beginning of a Heated rivalry between Philly and Miami? Probably, and I'm excited to see these two teams play again.
